Freedom Fibre’s government contract has finished and is being replaced by a new company. The new provider will consider which homes will be included in the specification for the remainder of the contract. These will be hard-to-reach premises where commercial providers have no plans to install a connection but they may not be exactly the same premises as were included in Freedom Fibre’s contract.

The Parish Council is continuing to liaise with Shropshire Council to get clarity on the next steps and to continue to seek ways in which the mobile signal can be improved across the parish.

There are proposals to erect power grid pylons as part of the Vyrnwy Frankton Connection in the Maesbrook area which the Council is keeping a close eye on. There has been a public consultation by the proposers, Green GEN Cymru, which the Council and local residents have responded to, expressing concern about a number of aspects not the least of which has been the disruption to village life and risks to property. This being a major project, it will be up to the Central Government to decide, but the Parish Council will do its best to keep residents informed of progress.
